Born in Belleville Ontario, Chris moved to Vancouver as a teenager and attended the Vancouver School of Art
(now the Emily Carr University of Art and Design) and played drums in the legendary west coast blues rock band
My Indole Ring. Chris is an award-winning art director and designer whose credits include Maclean's Magazine,
Vancouver Magazine, Western Living Magazine and Trek – The Magazine of the University of British Columbia.
Today Chris lives with his wife Jan Bell-Irving and their companion Pico at homes in Qualicum Beach and Vancouver.
